The RoSPA Advanced Driving Test
As an associate member you have already taken and passed a driving test.
The RoSPA test is not another standard driving test. The RoSPA test is
an assessment of your advanced driving skills based on the hard work you
will have put in during the months previously. Do not be put off by the word test!
The test is carried out by a serving police class one examiner who is simply
looking for you to demonstrate that you have understood and mastered advanced
driving techniques and skills that have been passed on to you by your tutor.
In it's formal sense those skills will be assessed against "Roadcraft" which
is a standard police driving manual embodying the principles of advanced driving.
The test lasts for approximately 1-1/2 hours and is conducted in a relaxed
and informal manner, allowing you to demonstrate your driving skills across a
wide range of roads and situations. Typically there will be a very short verbal
question session at the end of the test followed by the examiner's summary of
your drive and your grade.
The RoSPA Advanced Driving Association (UK)
