Welcome to Sussex ADA
Hello. My name is David Bradley and I have the pleasure and honour of being the Group Chairman.
I work with an energetic and positive committee to ensure that our group is interesting and
involving for all of our members and associates.
It is a sobering thought that an average of 10 people a day die on our roads and many more
are injured. The annual cost of road crashes to this country each year is thirteen billion
pounds. Adults and children are disfigured, suffer needless physical and mental trauma and
families are destroyed by this carnage.
We all think we are good drivers and a crash will never happen to us, which makes it more
of a shock when reality strikes. Billions of pounds a year are spent on improving the roads
and designing safer cars but how much is spent on the most important item, the driver?
The Sussex Group of Advanced Car Drivers offers you the chance to learn defensive
driving techniques and get more involved with your driving whilst having fun, but
with a lower crash and injury risk.
Other than the Police Examiners, everyone involved in your training has volunteered
to pass on the life saving techniques they learned from other Advanced Drivers. As
RoSPA is a registered charity, we are not here to make money, just to show you how
to enjoy your vehicle whilst improving your driving.
The Sussex Group also has a vibrant social life trying different skills like flying,
gliding, skid training. Have a look at our newsletter page. We have a wide age range
of members both male and female and try to cater for everyone's needs.
Our meetings take place at the Sussex Police Headquarters every two months and
details can be found on the events page of this website. We usually start at 8 pm
with the evening being split between group matters and a guest speaker.
Please come along to a meeting and have a chat to the members or the committee as
you will be very welcome. There is a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure to join.
